Annotation

Within the degree course, art and artistic practice in public spaces are explored and applied to social fields of action. Starting with subject-related academic and artistic analysis, the Master's degree course provides specific specialisation in different professional fields due to its three profile areas. In this way, connections are created to cultural educational fields of practice (e.g. day-care nurseries, art schools, independent full-day schools) in the first profile area of non-school cultural and educational work. The second area of teaching of art and media is oriented towards institutions which teach people about art (such as museums, galleries, cultural institutions). Artistic communication in a social context is the third profile area, which links into socially relevant fields, such as urban development projects, public health or developmental aid. The Master’s degree opens up the opportunity to do a doctorate and, with the appropriate course planning/fulfilment of the relevant requirements, admission to any possible doctorate. The degree qualifies students for a broad professional spectrum, e.g. in day-care nurseries, art schools, institutions that teach art, museums, galleries, cultural institutions, for urban development projects, in public health or in developmental aid.
