Annotation

The educational goal of the Bachelor's programme in Historical Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies is the ability to deal with the handed-down texts of different cultural areas of Europe and the Orient. You can choose from a variety of specialisation areas and acquire profound knowledge of the respective historical language levels. You will learn to follow the historical development of a wide range of texts, some of which are foreign, in terms of language and content. In this way, the programme takes you directly to the basis of the humanities subjects and lays the foundation for understanding processes in the history of the humanities. The intensive study of language in general, the confrontation with exclusively or predominantly written foreign-language material and its special requirements, the historical perspective, interdisciplinarity and the educational focus on the promotion of one's own expressiveness create the special profile of graduates of the Bachelor's programme in Historical Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies. The following key areas are offered in the Bachelor's programme in Historical Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies: - Historical Comparative Linguistics - Celtic Studies - Greek Studies - Latin Studies - Ancient Oriental Studies - Semitic Studies - Indology and Tibetology
