Annotation

In the Master's degree programme Economic Geography, students acquire in-depth knowledge in the subject of geography. The course content refers to content-related competences and methodological skills in economic geography and its various sub-areas. Students acquire subject-specific knowledge and methodological skills to be able to describe, analyse, explain, assess and forecast socio-economic processes from a multi-scalar, theory-based perspective. The focus is on the acquisition of theoretical analytical knowledge and the strengthening of problem-solving skills related to the professional field. In combined scientific-methodical modules with project character, integrated work processes are learned in an ideal sequence. The integrative approach to the problem is not an end in itself, but is geared to the practical application of this perspective in the later occupational field. Research focuses: - Globalisation of innovation and knowledge, - Socio-economic globalisation - Innovation and growth in space, - Methods of empirical social research - Modelling and Simulation.
