The study of the subject Chemistry in the Teacher Training programme at the level of grammar schools is oriented towards the requirements of the practice of teaching chemistry at grammar schools. The teaching addresses all modern but also traditional areas of chemistry in order to allow for an interesting and varied chemistry lesson. The networking of subject-specific and didactic aspects is essential. The university programme is designed to teach future teachers how to use resources and the environment in a sustainable way, and to prepare them to responsibly and reflectively promote a comprehensive, critical awareness of the sustainable development of technology, society and the preservation of the living conditions of future generations in the context of chemistry lessons.
