Annotation

Understanding education as a unit in working life and school – for vocational educators who want to be teachers at vocational schools, this is elementary. Whether they later teach at different courses of vocational schools (e.g. vocational school, vocational grammar school, vocational schools, technical schools, etc.) or are responsible for (extracurricular) training in companies or lecturers in a vocational educational institution – it is always about vocational preparation, vocational training, vocational training and continuing the general education of pupils. One of the central tasks of vocational educators is to individually advise and promote pupil groups that are heterogeneous in terms of age, educational qualifications, previous professional experience, performance, etc., and to create a climate conducive to learning in the classroom. The content of the degree course in Vocational Education extends either to the subject area of metalworking engineering or electrical engineering – in both cases innovative and future-proof technical professional fields. In addition to the teaching subjects, the educational and social science core programme is a mandatory part of the teaching qualification programme at the University of Kassel. In the short, medium and long term, there is a large demand for graduates – both at schools and in companies.
