Admission requirements

Qualification for the degree in the Germanic Studies: On the dual-subject Master's programme in the Faculty of Humanities, knowledge of the language and culture is gained through the successful study of Germanic Studies: Literature, Language, Culture and Communication in a dual-subject Bachelor's programme at the University of Duisburg-Essen or Through the successful completion of an equivalent or comparable course in the field of English Language and Literature, American Language and Literature or Linguistics (depending on the selected specialisation in the Master's degree in Germanic Studies: Literature and Culture). The overall grade of the degree must generally be at least 2.5 or better.
