Admission requirements

The study program is consecutive and requires the completion of the Bachelor program Modern Japan or a comparable study program with sufficient Japanese knowledge. Very good knowledge of English is also a necessary prerequisite for enrollment in the Master's program Modern Japan. All students wishing to be admitted to the Master's Degree Program Modern Japan must undergo a so-called 'Aptitude Assessment'. This applies to both internal and external applicants, regardless of the grade point average.
