Annotation

There is a 5 and 6 semester variant. The combined degree course is a career-integrated course of study, with self-study phases comprising approx. 70% attendance phases comprising approx. 30%. Whereas the course contents for full-time degree courses are taught by means of lectures, the combined degree course uses self-study methods. Exercises and seminars are taught using both self-study methods and in attendance lectures. Internships are carried out either full-time or part-time alongside the attendance lectures depending on the demand for technical equipment. The course of study begins with an introduction and orientation phase, lasting one to two days. Attendance lectures then generally take place every 14 days on Saturdays. In addition, block courses and/or examinations may take place on five weekdays per academic half-year. For the combined course, the academic year is divided into 2 semesters of 23 weeks each. Wherever possible, there are no attendance lectures during the summer holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia. Regardless of the duration of studies, the Master's course in Electronic Systems always comprises 4 semesters, in which the content and skills corresponding to the combined course model are taught. For all students who began their course with 180 ECTS points, there is then a project semester which is accompanied by a seminar. The final semester comprises the Master's thesis and an oral examination - the colloquy. The project semester and thesis can be carried out in a company if suitable positions are available.
