Target group

The course of study is compatible for graduates of Humanities, Cultural Studies, Social Sciences, Political Science, Economics and Health Sciences as well as graduates in other disciplines related to the four organisational and ethical fields of the degree course in Ethics and Organisation. It is also interesting for all people with normatively complex responsibilities in organisations, e.g. those responsible for planning in administration, senior clinic staff, PR officers, CSR and sustainability of companies, organisation consultants and developers, media, art and culture managers. This is a one-year Master's degree course. The admission requirements are therefore a four-year Bachelor's degree course (240 ECTS) or evidence of a Master's or State Examination course already started.

Annotation

In response to this challenge, students gain inter-disciplinary knowledge of organisations and ethics in the four fields of Politics, Health, Economics and Culture. Case studies are used to determine which factors facilitate or impede organisations from integrating a sense of responsibility and ethical reflective competence in their organisation processes and developing these in their organisational culture. What hinders and what promotes the development of organisations of moral integrity and, in this sense, trustworthy organisations? The course should enable graduates to identify ethical problems which arise from complex responsibility in varying political organisations, in health planning, the economy and the cultural sector. Furthermore, they should be able to analyse them normatively and descriptively, investigate them methodically and discuss them in a compatible way and moderate normative conflicts in a discursive manner. The students learn to recognise the vital ethical dimensions in the world of organisations and to cultivate a sense of responsibility of and in organisations as a well-versed organiser.
