Target group

The Master's course in Theatre Studies provides graduates profound knowledge in the history of European culture and theatre, as well as - through practical exercises - a connection to later fields of work in theatre (dramaturgy, direction, management, public relations), in publishing houses or the print and audiovisual media sector (editing, authoring, copy-editing, presentation). The course qualifies graduates for international professional practice in cultural management or an academic career followed by university teaching and research.

Annotation

If the Bachelor degree certificate is not available by the application deadline, but at least 135 credit points can be demonstrated: Submit a certificate of study and examinations and the average grade achieved so far. (This certificate must be issued by the relevant higher education institution, original or officially authenticated copy). After enrolment, the diploma must be submitted. If the degree was obtained abroad: officially authenticated copy of a certificate of recognition (responsible: International Department).

Admission requirements

1. Proof of a Bachelor's degree in the subject of Drama or in a subject related to a cultural, artistic, media or drama content, or an equivalent degree at a German or international university. 2. It is required that students have sufficient active and passive command of English to enable them to read specialist literature in English and to participate in lectures conducted in English. In addition, it is required that the students have sufficient active and passive language skills in another modern foreign language (preferably French or Italian), which would enable the reading of subject literature in foreign languages.
