Target group

The consecutive Master's course is a scientific course of study leading to an additional professionally qualifying degree based on the first professionally qualifying degree. It aims to teach in-depth scientific specialist knowledge in the disciplines of Training and Movement Studies, Sports Sociology and Sports Economics, Physical Education Theory, Sports Psychology and Sports Medicine. The area of specialisation C International Sports Management aims to tackle organisation and management in Sport in a highly globalised world. The overall focus of international sports management tasks are sports events (e.g. World Championships) These always have a strong international focus and the international associations see this focus as one of their main tasks. From an economic perspective, these events represent a microcosm of sport i.e. all topics of sporting organisation are represented by the events (from HR management to financing and construction of sports facilities to sports policy and promotion of professional sport). As international sports events are organised by sports associations, there also arises a deep discussion regarding the work and politics in these international associations. Amongst other things, this opens up a professional field, such as leading positions in international sports organisations.
