If the Bachelor academic degree certificate is not available by the application deadline, but at least 135 credit points can be demonstrated: Submit a certificate of study and examinations and the average grade achieved so far. (This certificate must be issued by the relevant higher education, original or officially authenticated copy). After enrolment, the diploma must be submitted. If the certificate of academic degree was obtained abroad: officially authenticated copy of a certificate of recognition (responsible: Student Service - Admission International). Cooperative study programme with the Technical University of Darmstadt. Application and enrolment at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.

Admission requirements

1. Proof of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics or Materials Science from a university in Germany or a very similar degree from a university in Germany or abroad. 2. Proof of practical exercises in the laboratory amounting to at least 18 credit points (CP), some of which must be carried out using chemical working techniques. 3. Proof of at least 3 CP in molecular sciences. 4. Proof of at least 3 CP in thermodynamics. Credits not obtained in the underlying Bachelor's degree course can also be taken into account. This is determined by the Examination Board. Proof of required English language skills at least at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
