Target group

The course teaches extensive skills for a profession in academic and applied Communication Science. In an information society, media communication plays a central role. Accordingly, the research interest in the processes, functions and effects of the mass media and the role of those involved in it grows in the university sector as well as in the private sector. Today, for companies, parties or non profit organisations, analyses of its media presence and resonance are indispensable. Equally, methodological skills are in demand, on the one hand in university research and teaching, and on the other, in the context of market, opinion and media research in the private sector, or for companies and media institutions that are advertising. The Master's degree course in Communication Science also prepares students for tasks in journalism, which require methods-focused training in publishing, such as experience in academic journalism.
