Target group

The postgraduate Master's course in Competition & Regulation LLM is aimed at prospective students who already have proof of a completed degree in Law, Economic Law or another subject-related course of study and who wish to acquire further qualification in the fields of Competition and Regulation Law. In addition, the course is aimed at lawyers, applicants who are in the phase after the First or Second State Examination ("Referendare/Referendarinnen" and "Assessoren/Assessorinnen") as well as lawyers who would like to complete the course of study in parallel to judicial service training or their job. After successful completion of the Master's course, there is the possibility of a doctorate.

Annotation

In the degree programme, lawyers can specialise in competition and regulatory law while continuing to work. The legal content is linked with economic aspects. The attendance phases are grouped in three blocks and combined with different e-learning formats. The Master’s degree may be recognised as qualifying for the title ‘Solicitor Specialising in Public Procurement Law’.

Admission to the postgraduate Master's degree course Competition & Regulation LL.M.: 1.) requires a first certificate of academic degree in law or business law qualifying for a profession, in which in-depth relevant legal knowledge was imparted - other degrees from related courses of study can also be recognised 2) At least 1 year of relevant professional experience; the following experience is deemed to be of particular relevance: – Full-time eligible (if applicable, also voluntary) employment. Employment is deemed to be eligible if it predominantly involved work that corresponds to the qualification level of the relevant degree. – Post-graduate civil service, including the economic law aspects. – Subject-related professional training. – Full-time work placement, provided that aspects of economic law have been dealt with. 3) Language skills: Evidence of particular proficiency in English is required.
