You are a bachelor’s student studying for a degree in chemistry, biochemistry, materials science, molecular systems engineering, physics, molecular cell biology, bioengineering or a similar subject, and are interested in one of the following topics for your master's degree: Bioengineering, biophysics, biocompatible materials, synthetic biology, molecular systems chemistry, eco-friendly chemical processes or biomedical approaches for the diagnosis and therapy of diseases.</br> The new joint Master's degree course "Matter to Life" at Heidelberg University and the University of Göttingen offers you a unique environment to study, work with and break new ground with students from different academic backgrounds. The master's degree "Matter to Life" is part of the new Max Planck School Matter to Life, which brings together excellence from various departments to create a new and innovative research field. </br> The Max Planck School Matter to Life supports master’s students with a generous scholarship, summer schools and a mentoring programme by experienced lecturers from the University of Heidelberg, Göttingen University, the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research, the German Cancer Research Centre (DKFZ), the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) and other outstanding research institutes from all over Germany. The programme's Germany-wide network allows students to establish important contacts with the research community at an early stage.

The Master's degree course is admissions restricted. Applications must be submitted by 1 December.Exception: The academic degree is awarded as a joint degree by the universities of Göttingen and Heidelberg.

Tuition fee
