Im Mittelpunkt des Studiengangs steht die Entwicklung von betriebswirtschaftlichen Anwendungen und deren Integration in heterogene Umgebungen. Die Studien-Schwerpunkte beziehen sich auf aktuelle Themenstellungen, z.B. Vernetzung von Unternehmen, E-Business Anwendungen und Auswertung von Kundeninformationen (Customer Relationship Management). Eine Architektur kann sich sowohl auf die Strukturen zwischen Anwendungen (inner- und zwischenbetrieblich) als auch auf die Strukturen innerhalb einer Anwendung beziehen.
