By choosing Practical Islamic Theology for Pastoral Care, students can expect a multi-faceted, practice-oriented Master's course at a lively, innovative theological centre. Students are given an opportunity to deepen their professional interests, to consolidate them academically and to further develop and implement them in the form of a practice of Islamic theology. This course is an innovation in Germany. It is interdisciplinary and interreligious, aiming at the education of Islamic pastoral workers and the teaching of skills necessary for social work. In this Master's programme, students are given an opportunity to reflect their skills in various fields of practice (pastoral care in hospitals and prisons, refugee work, youth work, consulting for municipalities, etc.). The compulsory work placements in each semester make this Master's course stand out. Through the professional and systematic theoretical and practical training, graduates will be able to work in numerous fields in Germany and beyond. These include social institutions, such as hospitals, prisons, refugee counselling, military, schools, elderly help, mosque communities, etc.
