Target group

The degree course in Computer Science provides a very broad basis in all areas of computer science. At the same time, it offers a high degree of freedom of choice, as the classes can be individually customised and picked from the comprehensive range of courses offered by the Department of Computer Science. The application-oriented course allows students to either acquire knowledge in a non-computer science subject (e.g. physics, business studies, psychology, etc.) or to deepen their knowledge of computer science. In addition to lectures and seminars, the range of courses offered by the Department of Computer Science includes numerous internships and lectures by industry lecturers. Students can participate in a research group early on as part of a research project. In Computer Science, advanced Bachelor’s courses can be added, which simplifies a thematic reorientation of the Master’s in Computer Science and, especially, a transfer to the University of Tübingen. Computer Science in Tübingen is one of the most research-intensive in Germany and is internationally known. It maintains close partnerships with major business enterprises and research institutes (e.g. three Max Planck Institutes in Tübingen) at the national and international levels. It is distinguished by the interdisciplinary cooperation with medicine, biology, psychology, media science and many other disciplines at the University of Tübingen.
