In the model degree course in medicine at the University of Bielefeld, outpatient medicine and, in particular, general practitioner care are of great importance. In addition, the teaching focuses on six main content areas, which are represented with varying weighting in all modules of the curriculum. In addition to excellent medical knowledge, practical skills, patient orientation and strong communication skills, these include competencies that play a major role in the tradition and values of Bielefeld University: Research strength and science orientation, interprofessionalism and interdisciplinarity, technology and future orientation, as well as gender and diversity sensitivity. Students of the model degree course Medicine at Bielefeld University have the additional option to acquire a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences (B.Sc.). Students can choose one of the following profiles: - Diversity, Health, Care - Medical Humanities - Molecular Medicine - Psyche, Language, Communication - Technological Transformation in Medicine The Bielefeld Medicine degree course is a model degree course. Participation is voluntary according to Art. 3 para. 4 SPO. By enrolling, the prospective student declares his or her voluntary decision to participate in the model degree course and his or her knowledge of its special features in comparison to the standard course of study in medicine.
