Target group

The Master's degree course “Digitalisation in Social Work” is suitable for: Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related academic disciplines, who have at least one year of professional experience and are interested in tackling challenges specific to the field of work and tasks through the use of digital solutions. Employees of social (economic) organisations who plan, control and evaluate all professional, organisational, technical and ethical aspects associated with the digital transformation of social services in interdisciplinary settings, or would like to do so in the future. Please contact us if you would like to use the possibility of state recognition as a social pedagogue or social worker; we would be happy to check this.

In your degree you will deal intensively with theoretical and practical knowledge of social work, the field of service and social management as well as with models and solution approaches from social informatics. Aspects of trend and future research are also relevant. One focus, however, is on professional knowledge of digital technologies with regard to their (historical) development and modes of action. The ability to analyse, evaluate and further develop social organisations with regard to their digital maturity is also an important part of the Master's degree. The competences for interdisciplinary thinking, acting, self-reflection as well as an interdisciplinary, solution-oriented cooperation play a central role in the degree. The course starts in the winter semester 2021.
