Annotation

Aim of the study course The action-oriented Master's degree course in Social Work KriDiCo qualifies to contribute to more social justice through power-critical, inter-sectional and community-oriented transformations together with state institutions and independent organisations, social movements and interest groups and neighbourhoods. Profile The course broadens, deepens and intertwines the knowledge from critical diversity and community studies in relation to theories, concepts, methods of action and areas of work in social work. A power-critical, professional competence profile is developed by reflecting on professional and social framework conditions, conflicts and resistance with the aim of empowerment, powersharing, participation, collaboration and agency. By reference to community-oriented concepts of social work, such as community work and social space orientation, the transformative concern of the Master is emphasised. The goal of community-oriented social work is the improvement of material, infrastructural and immaterial conditions with significant participation of those affected, especially disadvantaged population groups. Project orientation and independent learning Due to the project orientation and self-organisation of the course, motivation and willingness to learn independently, initiative and networking as well as a research-based attitude of the students is a central requirement for a successful degree. Notice: The course does not qualify for state recognition as a social worker.
