You would like to improve your foreign language and communication skills at the same time? Are you also looking to gain sound knowledge of business management for a career in middle management in small and medium-sized companies, associations and organisations as well as global tourism companies? Then you should look into our bachelor’s in Tourism Management (B.A.) (course variant Bachelor of Arts International Business Communication - Tourism Management): this qualifies you for jobs with tour operators, in the hotel industry or with transport companies! Over the course of six semesters you will first study economics and the services in the tourism industry. You will gain sound knowledge of the hotel industry, transport and mobility and other areas of tourism management. The curriculum will also include innovative business processes, personnel management and marketing (e.g. social media marketing), as well as ecological, socio-cultural and geopolitical aspects of tourism. You will also learn about academic work, organisation and successful learning management (incl. target-, time and self management) as well as presentation skills. You will improve your business English skills and acquire a sound knowledge of communication sciences. Additional areas you will be learning about are economic and business aspects of the tourism industry, personnel and project management in service companies as well as tourism-relevant macro systems and markets. You will also learn about the characteristics of tourist services and analyse them. You will also gain specialist knowledge of psychology and communication in tourism. Principles of intercultural communication, international management and change management complete the curriculum. In the fifth and sixth semesters you will choose two of six specialisations. Select your combination: - Fields of practice, challenges and perspectives in tourism: Hotel management, transport and mobility in tourism, CSR, sustainability and tourism - Human resource management and leadership - Marketing management in tourism: including customer relationship management, social media marketing and management - Coaching in service companies: Change management, team development, staff development - Business French - Business Spanish
