Target group

The consecutive Master's degree course in Corporate Communication/PR is a postgraduate extension of Bachelor's degree studies in Journalism or Economics which offers graduates of such courses a further, professionally qualifying academic studies. The Master's degree course prepares students for careers in Corporate Communication/Public Relations, Political Communication/Political Consulting and Financial Communication.

Annotation

If the Bachelor degree certificate is not available by the application deadline, but at least 135 credit points can be proven: Submit a certificate of study and examinations and the average grade achieved so far. (This certificate must be issued by the relevant higher education institution, original or officially authenticated copy). After enrolment, the diploma must be submitted. If the degree was obtained abroad: officially authenticated copy of a certificate of recognition (responsible: International Department).

Admission requirements

Proof of a Bachelor's degree in Media Studies or Communications Science or a degree at a university inside or outside Germany that does not differ from this to any substantial extent. In total at least half of the studies (at least 90 credit points or an equivalent proportion) must have been completed in a Media Studies or Communications Science subject. Of this at least twelve credit points must have been acquired in the field of Empirical Methodology, including Statistics as a mandatory element. Proof of knowledge of empirical methods (incl. statistics) must be provided by the end of the application period. A requirement is that students have sufficient active and passive command of English to enable them to read specialist literature in English and to participate in lectures conducted in English. Applicants for the course who have not obtained their higher education entrance qualification at a German-speaking institution and have not obtained a degree in a course conducted in German must provide proof of proficiency in German to the level of the "German Language Test for Admission to Higher Education for Foreign Students" (DSH) or the "German as a Foreign Language Test" (TestDaF) accordingly. Here, proof must be provided that the levels DSH-3 or 4 x TDN 5 have been achieved.
