With the choice of the subject “Islamic Religious Education”, students can expect an interesting and extremely varied degree course at a lively, open and young centre. As a prospective religion teacher, you should not only have the willingness to acquire specialist knowledge, but also the motivation to critically develop your own skills and personality. For this purpose, the reflection of your attitudes regarding the subject and your own religious practice are fundamental for the future profession. The role of the teacher in Religious Education is that of a moderator in the meeting of students and religion, taking into account both the situation and the tradition and thus preparing the students for a life in a plural, differentiated society. In terms of content, the "Islamic Religious Studies" degree course consists of a specialist and a didactic part. By designing a coherent Bachelor's and Master's degree, you have the opportunity to acquire a qualified degree after completing your Bachelor's degree. In order to be able to work as a teacher, you then need a Master's degree.
