Target group
Graduates are the main target groupfrom the following subjects: Classical Studies, History (subject bachelor and teaching degree), Classical Archaeology and Classical Philologies (subject bachelor and teaching degree). Of course, lateral entrants from other courses of study are also welcome, provided that the admission requirements are met. Due to the interdisciplinary orientation and the anchoring in the field of Classical Studies, the programme is also attractive for international students, because in the English-speaking world Classical Studies are studied together as Classics.

Admission requirements
-first professional qualifying certificate of academic degree or equivalent degree with at least 6 semesters of standard study time (180 LP) or comparable extent -Grade 2.50 (good) or better - in Ancient History or a related subject from the fields of Classical Studies or Historical Studies - Degree certificate or proof of at least 150 credit points (CP) for provisional admission - List of all achievements or certificates acquired - in addition, proof of achievements in history amounting to at least 60 LP, including achievements in ancient history amounting to at least 25 LP or Proof of achievements in Ancient Studies/Classical Studies of at least 90 LP, including achievements in Ancient History of at least 35 LP - Proof of knowledge of Latin at the level of the Latinum (can be made up until the end of the 2nd semester) - Proof of knowledge of Greek at the level of the Graecum (can be made up until the end of the 2nd semester) - Proof of English language skills at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) or equivalent proof -German language skills at level DSH-2 or comparable proof (if first degree or higher education entrance qualification is not acquired at a German-speaking institution) - C.V. If the degree certificate has not yet been submitted at the time of application: Proof of previous study and examination achievements from the degree course amounting to at least 150 LP with a provisional overall examination mark\; to determine the overall grade, the missing accomplishments for the degree are assessed with the grade 4.00 and then the average weighted according to performance points is determined If the degree certificate cannot be presented at the time of enrolment, enrolment is provisional and subject to the condition subsequent that the degree certificate is presented by the end of the first semester at the latest. Proof of Latin or(!) Greek language skills can be made up. Enrolment is provisional and subject to the condition precedent that the relevant proof is submitted by the end of the 2nd semester at the latest.
