Target group
The Master's degree course offers students an in-depth education in pertinent theory and methods. The course has a pronounced scientific orientation and familiarises them with the latest theoretical discussions, methodological developments and empirical knowledge of sociology by means of practical research tasks. As far as didactic aspects are concerned, project-oriented working and learning are in the foreground. Qualitative explorative methods and/or qualitative standardised methods of social research are used for practical research activities.
Annotation
If the Bachelor degree certificate is not available by the application deadline, but at least 135 credit points can be demonstrated: Submit a certificate of study and examinations and the average grade achieved so far. (This certificate must be issued by the relevant higher education, original or officially authenticated copy). After enrolment, the diploma must be submitted. If the degree was obtained abroad: officially authenticated copy of a certificate of recognition (responsible: Student Service - Admission International).
Admission requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a university in Germany or abroad with at least 60 credit points in the subject of Sociology. A sufficient proficiency in English is required International applicants from non-German-speaking countries must provide evidence of proficiency in German at the level of the “German Language Test for Admission to Higher Education for Foreign Students” (DSH).
