Social media has redefined the public sphere and communication. Where press releases used to be sent out, influencers now carry brand messages to the world, and thanks to viral YouTube marketing, clever advertising slogans - just like nasty shitstorms - reach an audience of millions. For media companies, this means a special task for strategic management. With the B.A. degree in Media Management with a specialisation in Social Media and Gaming, you will learn to understand and navigate the dynamics of web culture. What does gaming have to do with social media? In the “Gaming Workshop” module, you will apply the analysis and planning steps you have learned to a game concept. You will acquire skills in the analysis, classification and assignment of game elements, game motivations and game typologies. You will apply these, for example, in an entrepreneurial, social or cultural context for your game concept. In addition, you will gain basic knowledge of psychology, education and sociology within game design as well as a basic understanding of the game mechanics in an interactive medium.
