The four-year interdisciplinary course in Theology and Pedagogy combines comprehensive foundations and basic skills from all disciplines of Theology (including an introduction to Biblical Greek) and Pedagogy with an intercultural perspective. In addition, it offers a variety of specialisation modules in theology, pedagogy, pastoral care, counselling, psychology, sociology, youth social work, homiletics, experiential education, religious education, interculturality and mission science. Structure of the program: In addition to a compulsory internship semester (5th or 6th semester), it is possible to complete a semester abroad in the 5th or 6th semester, for example, at an international partner university of the IHL. In the main course there is the possibility to delve into four profiles: 1.) Education (The profile deepens the educational and research-related knowledge and is especially interesting for those students who are considering studying for a Master of Education or Educational Science after their BA studies.) 2.) Community Pedagogy (The profile focuses on the pedagogical competences needed to be able to work as a youth representative in Christian child and youth work or community work, for example). 3.) Religious education (including the first religious pedagogical examination of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Württemberg) After a subsequent advanced training and the second religious pedagogical examination, up to 13 hours of religious instruction in the area of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg can be granted). 4.) Experiential Education (The certificate of the IHL corresponds to the requirements of the Bundesverbandes Individual- und Erlebnispädagogik e.V. and enables the entry towards attaining the title „Erlebnispädagoge (be)®“
