DAAD promotes internationalisation of universities of applied sciences
HAW.International programme
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is once again supporting 21 projects promoting internationalisation at universities of applied sciences throughout Germany. In the current funding round of the DAAD's HAW.International programme, the selected projects were successful and will receive a total of more than ten million euros in funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMFTR) until 2028.
With the HAW.International programme, the DAAD has been specifically supporting the internationalisation of universities of applied sciences since 2019. The programme, which is funded by the BMFTR, focuses on the strategic development and deepening of international partnerships and networks in studies, teaching, research and transfer. The aim is to strengthen the global networking of universities of applied sciences and to promote practice-oriented international formats.
One example is the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, which aims to establish strategic cooperation with three international partner universities and practitioners. The aim is to expand existing university cooperation in a targeted manner to include a transfer component that combines scientific cooperation and practice. The Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, on the other hand, plans to work on interdisciplinary topics in real-world laboratories and develop joint educational programmes with partners from South America under the guiding principle of 'research-based teaching'.
The following universities of applied sciences will receive funding under the programme until 2028:
- Anhalt University of Applied Sciences
- Berlin School of Economics and Law
- Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences
- Bremen University of Applied Sciences and Arts
- Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences
