Under the scientific direction of Prof. Dr Louis Henri Seukwa, HAW Hamburg’s Migration Office supports participants in a manner that is resource-oriented and sensitive to their life situations and on the basis of a systematic assessment of skills and potential development analysis within the framework of the research-based project "KINEA - Skills of International Experts for the German Labour Market" to successfully enter the German labour market at a level suited to their education. The skills assessment and potential analysis instruments are developed with internal university experts in cooperation with companies (associations), and model-based industry-specific competence requirement profiles are developed for the labour market sectors of computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and information technology. Existing skills are transformed and further developed to fit the German labour market through individual counselling and coaching, company visits and job shadowing, job application training, seminars to prepare for the labour market and technical English language courses, as well as the two university adaptation qualification measures KOMPETENZ KOMPAKTexpert and BachelorUP. A cooperative network with actors relevant to the labour market as well as strategic partnerships with business associations further support successful labour market integration.
