A DHBW degree programme requires a study contract with a company. From the very beginning, all students are integrated into the labour market as employees subject to social security contributions. The focus of the project is therefore on concluding a study contract before the start of studies and on the success of the studies. Measures are carried out for four target groups with different entry requirements. Participants in the preparatory college are prepared linguistically, professionally and culturally for technical courses in technology courses, because the demand from companies in this area is particularly high and cannot be met by German high school graduates. A second group is prepared, especially linguistically, for a dual study programme during the Bridge Year through intensive German courses. Thirdly, graduates of German schools abroad are brought into contact with companies in intensive courses in order to be able to conclude a study contract and start a dual study programme. The fourth target group comprises international students who study entirely in English. In this group, German courses during the course of study are intended to ensure that students learn everyday German so that they can successfully integrate into the labour market and society despite having English as a study language. Due to the high demand for skilled workers – especially in technical professions – the DHBW assumes that all four groups can contribute to the recruitment of academically trained specialists.
