Social Media Campaign on European University Networks Around Europe Day 2026

A DAAD social media campaign around Europe Day on May 9 offers insights into the various commitment of German universities that are part of European University Networks. There will be numerous events and activities designed to highlight Europe and what European universities stand for. The competitiveness of the European Education Area, digitalisation, inclusion, European identity and solutions to societal challenges are just some of the key topics being promoted by the alliances.
The Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR) supports the EU initiative by funding the participating German universities additionally through the national accompanying program “European University Networks (EUN) – National Initiative.”
“European university alliances demonstrate how Europe takes concrete shape in the day-to-day life of universities: through joint degree programs, new forms of mobility, and closer collaboration in research, innovation, and knowledge transfer. They are key drivers of the transformation of the European Higher Education Area—and thus also of social cohesion in Europe. We are pleased to highlight this commitment every May on the occasion of Europe Day”, said DAAD-President Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee.
