The Bachelor's degree programme in Textile and Clothing Management offers a very versatile curriculum over seven semesters. The range of subjects includes the technical area of textiles as well as the equally important field of business administration and management. Designed and taught by internationally renowned professors as well as high-profile scientific staff, this degree programme guarantees a profound academic education focussed on the demands of industrial branches and international business.
Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Communication and Information Technology as well as Textile and Clothing Technology represent the programme's technical foundation. Students will cover the entire textile chain within their studies, including CSR and sustainability.
Management skills, business administration, law and accounting as well as other subjects including design and intercultural management complete the programme.
Practical training is an important part of this degree – you can choose to work in different labs that all form part of the textile chain: spinning, weaving, knitting, sewing, stitching, textile materials, textile production, finishing, digital printing of textiles, CAD construction of garments and quality testing.
As a cultural bonus, language courses are offered by the HSNR language centre on campus.
A study work in the fourth semester as well as two projects are obligatory. This also applies to an internship or a study semester abroad in the sixth semester for about 20 weeks.
Soft skills are also practised in seminars and workshops to enhance our students’ general competencies. During the fourth and fifth semesters, you can choose from elective courses. Students will write their theses and sit the colloquium in the seventh semester.

Double degree programme with the Tiangong University in China
Students who opt for the double degree programme in “International Textile and Clothing Management” will study semesters one to five at the HSNR in Mönchengladbach and then spend semesters six, seven and eight in China at the Tiangong University.
Length of study: eight semesters (210 ECTS)
Internship or one semester abroad
You can choose to do an internship (in Germany or abroad) or alternatively a study semester at a foreign university.
Double degree programme with the Tiangong University in China
Students who opt for the double degree programme in “International Textile and Clothing Management” will study semesters one to five at the HSNR in Mönchengladbach and then spend semesters six, seven and eight in China at the Tiangong University.
Length of study: eight semesters (210 ECTS)
The semester contribution amounts to approx. 330 EUR per semester. It includes a semester ticket covering costs for public transport in North Rhine-Westphalia.
To benefit from the newly introduced 49 EUR monthly ticket, which allows you to travel all across Germany, you simply buy an upgrade to your student ticket paying only the differential amount.
Of course, living costs vary according to your individual preferences. On average, you will probably require an amount of about 940 EUR per month, including your mandatory health insurance.
Students of the Hochschule Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences who fulfil certain requirements can apply for the "Deutschandstipendium" at our university to obtain additional funding and support.
German entrance qualification for universities or equivalent
