Programme Description

Post-graduates from any discipline of outstanding academic merit who complete a doctoral programme at a Baden-Württemberg higher-education institution or carry out an artistic development project are invited to apply. Applications are called for and awarded by the single higher-education institutions. Candidates are therefore asked to directly contact the institution of their choice for detailed information on scholarships and application procedures. The institutions also determine the funding amount, which is of EUR 1,500 at most. The funding covers a period of two years with the option to extend for a further 12 months. As the implementation of the State Law on Graduate Funding (LGFG) is left to the single institutions of higher education, there may be variations in the law's interpretation.

Target Group

  • post-graduates of outstanding academic merit who are admitted to a doctoral programme and supervised by a PhD advisor (professor or similar) at a Baden-Württemberg higher-education institution
  • artists with a higher-education degree planning to carry out an artistic development project

depending on the number of qualified applicants

Duration

The standard funding term is of two years and may be extended by up to one more year.

Scholarship Value

The single institutions of higher education determine the funding amount which is of EUR 1,500 at most, material- and travel expenses included.
