A print version of this announcement (PDF) is available in the further tabs (e.g. “Application requirements”).
The Max Weber Programme is open to particularly gifted students who are enrolled at a Bavarian higher-education institution. The Free State of Bavaria has entrusted the German Academic Scholarship Foundation, the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, with the Programme's realisation. The Programme arises from the Bavarian Elite Support Act and goes by the full name of 'Max Weber Programme by The Free State of Bavaria on The Support of Highly-Gifted According to The Bavarian Elite Support Act'.
The support aims at academic promotion as well as character building. Beyond the degree programme the scholarship holders are given the opportunity to participate in numerous events to deepen their specialist knowledge and skills and promote cross-disciplinary academic exchange. This is rounded off by a number of job-related activities. Individual support by mentors at the Bavarian higher-education institutions ensures early involvement in research and delivers insight into other areas of excellence. Encouraging networking between the scholars is the aim of general events in which participate scholarship holders from universities all over Bavaria. To further internationalisation, also projects abroad may be funded. Each stipendee receives a lump-sum grant for educational purposes of EUR 1,290 per semester.
