The Baden-Wuerttemberg-STIPENDIUM for university students is a program established by the Baden-Wuerttemberg Stiftung. The scholarship addresses highly qualified undergraduates, graduates and doctoral candidates at institutions of higher education either in the federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg or at their international partner institutions. Every year 1,000 young people from all over the world are given the opportunity to study abroad. Scholarships are equally distributed between applicants from the federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg and candidates from abroad. The funding period ranges between three and 11 months. Complete degree courses (Bachelor's or Master's) or PhD programmes are not eligible for funding. The scholarship amount is calculated individually and varies, depending the distance to the partner university, possible study fees, the costs of living in the host country, possible currency differences or particular visa requirements, etc. The minimum scholarship is of EUR 500, the maximum of EUR 1,400. Upon their return scholars receive non-material assistance and are part of a broad international network connecting people from differing disciplines and cultures.
The programme is intended for highly qualified undergraduates, graduates and doctoral candidates from all disciplines at institutions of higher education in Baden-Wuerttemberg and their partner institutions abroad.
