Description The Research Training Group "SocialCars" and the DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP) jointly award two full scholarships for doctoral studies in Autonomous Driving, V2X communication, Vehicle Routing and Platooning, Microscopic Traffic Modelling, Geoinformatics and Human Factors Psychology.

The goal of our research is to improve the safety, sustainability and efficiency of future urban traffic by cooperative traffic management strategies. A key research question is how to integrate automated vehicles and new mobility services in the shared public space.

We offer five doctoral projects to choose from:

Project 1: Cooperative Vehicles in Shared Spaces
Project 2: Control of Behaviour in Shared Spaces
Project 3: Automatic Cars as a New Means to Control Traffic
Project 4: City Platooning as a Decision Problem
Project 5: Microscopic Models of Platoon Composition and Decomposition in Mixed Traffic Environments

Starting at the earliest on 1 October 2019 and at the latest on 1 December 2019, funding will be provided for three years through the DAAD GSSP.
