Overview
The Margaretha-Rothe-Haus student residence consists of two buildings, and is centrally located just near Hamburg’s Stadtpark, approx. 3 minutes walk to the Borgweg subway station, and approx. 10 minutes by subway to the University of Hamburg. In 2015/2016 one part of the residence (the high-rise building, House C/D) was completely refurbished and has been equipped with new furniture.
There are a total of 475 single rooms. 456 of these rooms are approx. 11 sq m in size. There are also 19 large rooms approx. 20 sq m in size, which are allocated internally to interested parties. The rooms are furnished and some of them include a washbasin. All rooms have an Internet, telephone and cable TV connection.

The standard tenancy period is limited to 48 months, and in halls with low demand to 60 months.

Residents share fully equipped communal kitchens on each floor. Parking bays for cars, motorbikes and bicycles are available. There is a large bar with billiards table and foosball. Other facilities include a gymnasium, weights/exercise room, table-tennis room, bike workshop and video room. The canoes made by the student self-administration are perfect for cruising the nearby canals during summer.
