Applications can be made using a terminal at the Studierendenwerk's offices (Building 21.12) or online
Please fill the form out completely - incomplete forms will not be processed.
Your application will be stored for three months. If no housing is offered to you within this time period you will have to extend your application in writing or by phone. Otherwise, your application will automatically be deleted.
Applications will be processed in the order they are received. You will receive an offer of accommodation as soon as a room in your preferred hall is free. This will include a deadline by which you must inform the Studierendenwerk of whether you want to take the room or not. If you fail to do so before the deadline, your application will be deleted. In order to conclude a rental contract the Studierendenwerk needs the accommodation offer, a passport photo and confirmation of current student status.
An application does not give the right to the completion of a rental contract. A rental contract agreed on the basis of false representations can be terminated without notice.
The International Office strongly recommends that you make arrangements for accommodation in Kleve or Kamp-Lintfort before you arrive. In Kleve there is a limited number of rooms (flatsharing) for exchange/Erasmus students in a hall of residence from the Student Service Organisation (called Studentenwerk) and it is very close to the campus.
In a flatshare, three students share an apartment including kitchen, bathroom and toilet for which all students are equally responsible. Each student has his/her own lockable room and all rooms are furnished.
These rooms will be randomly allocated to incoming exchange students after the admission letters have been sent out. In case you will be selected for a room, the Studierendenwerk will send you an email which has to be confirmed within 24 hours. If you do not confirm, your reservation will automatically be cancelled.
When allocating living space, the following order of preference is applied:
- disabled students
- students with a child / children
- students who do not come from the Düsseldorf or Krefeld/Mönchengladbach or Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort areas
- first-year students
- all other applications in the order of receipt
