Prizes awarded by the DAAD
Prizes and awards
The DAAD regularly awards prizes for outstanding achievements in international academic exchange, German language and literature, German as a foreign language and German studies. Excellent support initiatives for foreign students at German higher education institutions are also recognised, as are excellent achievements of international students during their stays at German higher education institutions.
Prize for internationality and interculturality
This prize is presented to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to bringing together students, academics and (academic) cultures across borders, for example through comprehensive networking of disciplines or by developing new concepts for mutual understanding between cultures and/or nations.
Federal Foreign Office Prize
The Federal Foreign Office Prize has been presented annually since 1998 to outstanding support initiatives at German higher education institutions.
The DAAD Prize has been awarded for over ten years now and aims to give faces to the many international students at German universities and link them with their stories.
First presented by the DAAD in 2002, the Ladislao Mittner Prize is awarded to Italian researchers for their achievements in German-Italian academic exchange.
German-Spanish Research Prize
The Julián Sanz del Río Prize is offered in annually changing fields of research and presented alternatingly in Germany and Spain.
