About us

ATTENTION! Dr. Helga Baumgarten, Head of DAAD Information Center, will visit Gaza Universities on Sunday, March 21 & Monday, March 22, 2010.

She will meet with all new 2010 DAAD scholarship holders on Monday (all have been informed and invited by e-mail), at the Islamic University in Gaza, in the administration building, fifth floor, room B501, 14.00 -15.00 PhD & MA Germany students, 15.00 -16.00 MA Jordan students.

Furthermore, Dr. Helga Baumgarten will give a presentation on DAAD scholarships for 2011 on Monday, March 22, 2010 at:

Al Azhar University, conference center, Al Kateeba Building (1 st floor)

9.15 – 10.30 - Master scholarship programs ( Jordan and Germany)

10.45 – 12.00 - PhD Scholarship programs ( Germany)

12.00 – 12.30 - Open discussion

All applications may be submitted to one of the following addresses, but must in all cases reach the DAAD IC Jerusalem by the respective deadline!

DAAD cannot consider late or incomplete applications. When required, the TOEFL/IELTS test result must be included in the application, no exceptions granted!

Die nach jahrelangen Verhandlungen am 15.02.2006 unterzeichnete Erklärung über die gegenseitige Anerkennung von Studienabschlüssen wischen der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und der Palaestinensischen Autoritaet, vertreten durch das palaestinensische Erziehungs-und Hochschulministerium, wird nun endlich für alle betroffenen palästinensischen Absolventen deutscher Hochschulen implementiert. Das DAAD IC Jerusalem bittet um Rückmeldungen nach erfolgreicher Anerkennung, bzw. um Meldung möglicher noch bestehender Probleme.

Palestinian high-school graduates with a Tawjihi certificate:

As from February 1st 2004 the Tawjihi certificate (Palestinian High School Leaving Certificate -"ilmi & "adabi" only!) is fully recognized in ermany. All Palestinian high-school graduates with a tawjihi certificate can take up their studies at any Germany University as soon as they have fulfilled the relevant language requirements. Graduates with a scientific stream ("ilmi") tawjihi may apply for all fields of study, whereas graduates with an arts-stream ("adabi") tawjihi are limited in their choice to fields taught in the faculty of arts, economics, business administration and law as well as the fine arts.
