Friday, March 14th 2008: Visit by the head of the DAAD IC Jerusalem to Bethlehem University to talk about DAAD scholarship porgrams for 2009:

First Session: For those interested in applying for MA Degree. From 10:00 a.m. – 11.30 a.m. in L-002, Audio Visual Room, Basement floor- Library.

Second session: For those interested in applying for Ph.D. Degree, and for faculty members who wish to apply for a short visit to Germany in summer, from 11:30 a.m. – 12.30 a.m. in L-002, Audio Visual Room, Basement floor- Library.

Schedule: 10.30 -11.30: Meeting with PhD students

11.30-12.30: Meeting with Faculty Staff (Short study visit) 

13.00-14.30: Meeting with Masters Students

Final results of DAAD scholarships 2008:

- Master's scholarships to Germany: have been announced and all candidates in formed by e-mail

- Master's scholarships to Jordan: will be announced by mid-March 2008

- Ph.D. scholarships: have been announced and all candidates in formed by e-mail

Deadlines for DAAD Scholarship Programs 2009:

All applications may be submitted to one of the following addresses, but must in all cases reach the DAAD IC Jerusalem by the respective deadline! DAAD cannot consider late or incomplete applications.

Diplomanerkennung!!!

Die nach jahrelangen Verhandlungen am 15.02.2006 unterzeichnete Erklärung über die gegenseitige Anerkennung von Studienabschlüssen zwischen der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und der Palaestinensischen Autoritaet, vertreten durch das palaestinensische Erziehungs-und Hochschulministerium, wird nun endlich für alle betroffenen palästinensischen Absolventen deutscher Hochschulen implementiert. Das DAAD IC Jerusalem bittet um Rückmeldungen nach erfolgreicher Anerkennung, bzw. um Meldung möglicher noch bestehender Probleme.

Palestinian high-school graduates with a tawjihi certificate:

As from February 1st 2004 the Tawjihi certificate (Palestinian High School Leaving Certificate -"ilmi & "adabi" only!)) is fully recognized in Germany. All Palestinian high-school graduates with a tawjihi certificate can take up their studies at any Germany University as soon as they have fulfilled the relevant language requirements.

Graduates with a scientific stream ("ilmi") tawjihi may apply for all fields of study, whereas graduates with an arts-stream ("adabi") tawjihi are limited in their choice to fields taught in the faculty of arts, economics, business administration and law as well as the fine arts.
