RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering)

Program support

Logo AAThe RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) program provides students from North America and Great Britain with the opportunity to actively take part in research projects at German universities and research institutions. The goal of the program is not only to help them gain practical experience in their subject area and build contacts to German students and researchers, but also to experience life and work in Germany first-hand.

In its first five RISE was supported by generous grants from the European Recovery Program (ERP) of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. Actually, RISE it is supported by the Federal Foreign Office which we would like to thank for the generous support, without which this project would not be possible.

RISE is additionally supported by the individual efforts of doctoral students, young researchers, and academics. We receive assistance in our search for host institutions from several important professional organizations. They help promote the program among their constituents, assist us in answering more subject-specific questions, and provide information for the fellows about study and research in their subject areas.
