Students with demonstrated competence in an actual work environment are more marketable at graduation than students without. In addition, scientists and engineers with international experience are increasingly sought after in both business and industry. In order to meet this need, DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) has created unique opportunities for science and engineering students from the United States and Canada interested in gaining serious practical, career-building experience in Germany through the RISE professional program, where summer placements take place in a broad spectrum of companies.
