"With the Leibniz-DAAD Research Fellowship Programme, we aim to support a further internationalisation of German higher education and research and contribute to the development of international research personalities who remain associated with Germany as partners and friends," DAAD General Secretary Dorothea Rüland stresses. Leibniz President Karl Ulrich Mayer emphasises: "By linking up the exceptionally dense international network of the DAAD and the excellent working conditions at the Institutes of the Leibniz Association, with the Leibniz-DAAD Research Fellowship Programme, we are creating an important instrument to attract young, excellent junior academics to Germany." The Leibniz-DAAD Research Fellowship Programme grants are funded via the Impulse Fund of the Leibniz Association for special strategic projects. The DAAD advertises the programme and runs two-month German language courses for the fellows. Also, all Leibniz-DAAD Research Fellows enjoy the general support measures of the DAAD for grant-holders and alumni. |
