Working together with the Inter-University Council of East Africa (IUCEA) in East Africa, DIES supports the project aimed at establishing a regional quality assurance system in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Moreover, the DIES International Dean's Course for university managers from East Africa, Ghana and Nigeria was held for the first time in 2007. This in-service training programme aimed to prepare deans, vice-deans and degree programme coordinators for management tasks while, at the same time, establishing a transnational network of university managers in the target region.
