German Academic Food Network (GAFooN)

The Alumni Network for the area “Nutrition” (GAFooN) was established in 2006, as the result of an Alumni Special Project organized by the DAAD. The coordination of the consortial structured network is currently managed and organized by the University of Göttingen.

The network will soon offer a website, which will serve as a platform for the alumni and the participating institutions of higher education. At this website, partners can present their proposals for advanced training measures, place announcements, search for contacts, and become involved in many other activities offered at the website. Alumni may register for the database, and additionally, they may utilize the website as a platform for advertising and the establishing and maintaining of contacts.

Within the network, advanced training measures are offered on a regular basis in different regions of the developing countries. From time to time, the DAAD organizes an Alumni Special Project together with the network partners. The project is characterized by the combination of an Alumni summer school in Germany and the attendance of a trade fair or conference.

GAFooN is additionally supported by the German Agricultural Society (DLG).
