Information for German Institutions of Higher Education
The German institutions of higher education are making considerable contributions in the area of development cooperation:
- On a yearly basis, they provide education for 150,000 students from developing countries and newly industrialized nations
- They provide employment opportunities and scientific counselling for thousands of highly qualified scholarship holders of the DAAD
- They provide first class research pertaining to global development solutions
- They maintain international cooperation networks with partner institutions in higher education in almost all developing countries.
For many years, the DAAD furthers this engagement with a wide spectrum of individually tailored programs, which are funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
