After a strong showing in New Delhi and Hyderabad, the German Study and Research Expo India 2012 is set to kick off in Chennai. The excitement among the students is soaring, if numbers are anything to go by. With 1800 pre-registrations, the fair is expected to meet with an unprecedented reception from students.

The study and research expo is an excellent platform for the students to interact with the representatives of German universities. Facebook is abuzz with inquiries about the expo. One Rahul P Raj living in the neighboring state of Kerala plans to travel over 700 km to attend the expo in Chennai. Nishant Narang has words of praise for the expo. He writes, “you guys r really awesome.” The ongoing German Study and Research Expo India 2012 has also impressed students in the neighboring countries like Bangladesh who want to see a similar fair in their respective cities.

However, the excitement is not restricted to the virtual world. Together with three other guys I’ll be working as a Tandem Reporters and am  gearing up to cover what promises to be a sizzling event. Four Reporters following an event being attended by 1700 students is an unwieldy ratio. But our team is determined not to let go of any snippet of information which may be of our interest. Us Tandem Reporters won’t be hard to spot. Watch out for the coveted DAAD bag slung over our shoulders along with an Identity Card bearing our names. Of course, the team will conduct interviews with students. So talk to us if you’d like to share your view on the Expo and of course German.y For now, though, we are content with exploring a suitable background for our video reports.

The German Study and Research Expo India 2012 is taking place as part of Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities. It is being held on account of 60th anniversary of establishment of Indo-German diplomatic relations. One can expect to get first hand information on various courses offered by the participating German universities, admission procedure, funding, research, campus life and more. The fair offers an array of opportunities under one roof. The doors of the Vivanta by Taj Connemara will be thrown open to students at 9:00 am tomorrow. It promises to be a day full of action.
