Kimberly Barnum
My name is Kimberly Barnum, but everyone calls me Kim. I am 20 years old, and I just finished my sophomore year at Fordham University in New York where I am studying Biology. I am in the pre-medical program and hope to eventually apply to medical school.
This summer I will be working in the field of Biogeography at Universität Bayreuth. I will be researching “Selective Use of Plant Provenances: A Potential Tool for Climate Change Adaptation?” under the guidance of Mr. Daniel Thiel.
I originally heard about DAAD Rise through The Campion Institute, which is the office for prestigious scholarships and fellowships at Fordham. My twin sister, April, and I, had wanted to do research, but specifically we wanted to participate in a German program.

Although I will not be taking a German language course due to time constraints, I will definitely keep my German dictionary on me at all times.
